One of the most respected ranking organizations in the world of higher education, Times Higher Education (THE), has announced the results of the "2026 Interdisciplinary Science Rankings," which determine the scientific approach of the future.

In the ranking, where 1,267 universities worldwide competed, Gazi University ranked in the 251-300 band, once again proving its international competence. In the evaluation, in which a total of 93 universities from Türkiye made the list, Gazi University secured a position in the 19-22 band in Turkey, solidifying its status as one of the country’s most established and productive universities.

Not Just Publications, But "Scientific Integration" Was Measured

The key feature that differentiates this ranking from others is that it evaluates not only the academic outputs of universities but also their commitment to science. Developed in collaboration with Schmidt Science Fellows, this ranking is the first initiative in the world to assess how universities integrate courses from different academic disciplines to address global challenges.

Gazi University’s success in this ranking is a result of its performance in three key areas defined by THE: Inputs (research funding), Processes (administrative support, facilities, and promotion systems), and Outputs (publication quality, reputation, and interdisciplinary impact).

Investing in the Science of the Future

According to the ranking's methodology, the physical facilities and administrative support universities offer for interdisciplinary teams also significantly influenced their scores. Gazi University's placement in the 251-300 band demonstrates that the university not only produces academic publications but also provides its researchers with a world-class "scientific production ecosystem."
